What Is Bioheat®?

Bioheat® is an environmentally-friendly home heating oil that provides burns cleaner than standard home heating oil while utilizing materials that would otherwise go to waste. Bioheat® is a renewable fuel produced in the United States and helps reduce dependency on foreign fuel supplies.

Bioheat® is comprised of traditional home heating oil blended with Biodiesel, a recyclable, renewable fuel made by blending standard diesel oil and vegetable oils, animal fat, recycled restaurant grease, or even algae oil, materials which restaurants would otherwise discard. Standard Bioheat® oil is typically comprised of 2-5% Biodiesel. Bioheat® with 2% Biodiesel is designated B2, Bioheat® with 5% Biodiesel is B5, and so forth.

Biodiesel is produced from various renewable resources, such as plant oils, animal fats, recycled grease, and even algae oil, making it one of the most sustainable fuels on the planet. Biodiesel doesn’t sacrifice food for fuel or drive up crop costs like ethanol. Nearly half of Biodiesel is produced from soybean oil and 14% from corn, derived from high-nutrient livestock feed and is an ethanol production co-product. Oils and fats for Biodiesel are a secondary by-product of producing high-protein feed (soybean meal) and quality meats.

Where Does Bioheat® Come From?

Currently, 47% of Biodiesel is most often made from soybean oil and 14% from corn-derived from high nutrient livestock feed and as a co-product of ethanol production. According to Today’s Bioheat, Biodiesel is produced from a variety of renewable resources, such as plant oils, animal fats, recycled grease, and even algae oil, making it one of the most sustainable fuels on the planet. And with biodiesel, you don’t sacrifice food for fuel. Oils and fats for Biodiesel are a minor by-product of producing high-protein feeds (soybean meal) and quality meats.

Start Using Bioheat® Today

Oil heat systems that burn conventional heating oil or diesel can use Bioheat®. Over time, standard oil will leave sludge at the bottom of your oil tank and within the system components. This sludge can clog up your oil heat system, leading to costly repairs. One significant benefit of Bioheat® is that it can clean that sludge from your oil heat system, extending the system’s life, efficiency, and reducing or eliminating the need for repairs.

Suppose you have oil in your tank now but wish to start using Bioheat®. Good news! Bioheat® can be safely blended with standard #2 oil and #6 industrial oil. It can also be mixed with ultra-low sulfur heating oil, so there’s no need to drain your tank. Your first delivery of Bioheat® can supplement what you already have.

We deliver Bioheat® at no extra charge to our customers and our prices, as you can see on our COD oil delivery site, TragarExpress.com, are comparable to or lower than other COD oil companies.
