Why Ductless Air Conditioning Makes Sense | Tragar Services

As the weather heats up, you might be thinking about options for cooling your home. Some traditional choices such as window units or central air-conditioning may not always be right for all homes. Ductless air conditioning systems, which are available from Tragar, can supply a strong, energy efficient alternative to other options and make sense as your summer cooling choice for a variety of reasons.

Ductless Air Conditioning is Energy Efficient
Ductless air conditioning, employs a mini-split system that uses two separate units: small indoor units and a larger outdoor compressor unit. They can be controlled remotely and by thermostat. This system makes sense because using the smaller indoor units allows you to target areas of your home that you’re actually using. You don’t have to worry about wasting money in other rooms as is the case with central air conditioning systems. According to the US Department of Energy, systems with ducts can increase energy consumption by up to 30 percent.
Easy Installation and Low Noise
Another benefit of choosing Ductless AC is the ease of installation.  The single outside condenser can be connected to the indoor units to cool multiple rooms. Unlike window air conditioning units, which block natural sunlight from coming into your home, ductless units can be hung on walls or even on the ceiling in a manner that resembles central air vents. You won’t have to worry about matching the unit to your window size or finding a place to store the unit in the off season. Nor will you have the security concerns that come with having an air conditioner in an open window.
You also won’t have the installation headaches that can come with central air. Ductless installation is faster and won’t involve the heavy intrusion that can come with installing ducts. There will be minimal disruption to your home’s interior or exterior design. Installation can often be completed in one day.
In addition to having a peaceful, low-stress installation, your new ductless system will also bring peace to your home, ductless air conditioning units are quieter than other types of air conditioning. Window units can produce between 48 to 60 decibels of noise, while ductless units will only emit between 19 and 30 decibels. You won’t have to decide between keeping your home comfortable and turning up the volume on the TV.
Ductless Units Have Other Uses
Ductless air conditioning units are also versatile. In addition to cooling your home, they can also provide heat. The units are built to provide sufficient heat even when the mercury dips below 5 degrees fahrenheit. Ductless units don’t just cool or heat your home. They also can keep humidity out. Humidity can make a home feel very uncomfortable and window air-conditioning units won’t get rid of it. Excess moisture in the air also causes you to use more energy because it causes you to use more cold air to cool things down. Ductless air conditioning units include a condenser that removes humidity from your home.
Choosing a ductless air conditioning system makes sense for so many reasons. It will save you money on energy costs, save you headaches from noise and installation problems, while cutting down on humidity inside your home. Contact Tragar today to get a free estimate  on our ductless air conditioning installation.
