There’s nothing worse than having to shovel snow in frigid temperatures. It’s uncomfortable, it’s hard work, and too much shoveling can cause back injuries or worse. If you’ve ever thought that there has to be a better way to clear your driveway, walkway, patio, or any other concrete path that you have on your property, there is one and Tragar Home Services has it.
Now’s the time to put down the shovel and heavy rock salt bags, pick up the phone and ask Tragar to install a heated driveway with radiant heat. It works the same as the indoor radiant heating, which allows heat to rise under your floor, except we move the technology outside and warm the ground under your driveways and walkways.
How Do Heated Driveways Work?
The answer is they work very well. In fact, they work for you even when the system is not turned on. Tragar will install a hydronic radiant heat system underground. Tubing made of cross-linked polyethylene, known as PEX tubing, will run outside your home and will coil underneath your driveway and walkway and then back inside your home. The tubing is filled with water and Glycol, an antifreeze product. The water and Glycol circulate in a continuous loop into and out of your home.
When your system is turned on, your driveway is heated. But even if you turn the system off and go away for a winter vacation, you won’t have to worry about the tubing freezing up. Glycol will keep the water from freezing at temperatures as low as 40 degrees below zero.
Heated Driveway Installation
A heated driveway system is ideal if you need to have your driveway cleared at all times no matter what the weather is. Do you ever wonder why the driveway of your local firehouse is always clear? Very often the answer is they have radiant heating underneath.
There’s never been a better time to get a radiant heat driveway and there’s no better place to go for heated driveway installation than with the heating experts at Tragar Home Services. We’ll take care of everything for you. Tragar will send a team to install the system and snow will melt into drains. You can control your radiant heating by flipping a switch on a control panel.
Advantages of Hydronic Radiant Heat vs. Electric Heated Driveway Systems
Tragar’s hydronic radiant heat has advantages over the other types of heated driveway systems you may have heard about which are electric powered, using either underground electric coils or placing electric mats on your driveway to heat and clear a path for your vehicles.
- Far Less Expensive
- Covers More Ground Including; front steps, pathways, patios, and more.
- Allows You to Spend More Time With Family
- Forget Worrying About Slip & Fall Accidents
