However, where central AC cools an entire home through the ductwork in each room, ductless only strategically cools the rooms or areas where a separate, smaller air handler is installed on the wall or in the ceiling.
The condenser that converts the warm air in your home to cool air works the same in both systems, but they are considerably smaller and quieter when used with a ductless system.
