Benefits of Air ConditioningWe’ve reached the part of the year where the temperatures are only going to keep going up. If you’re not prepared with the right air conditioning system, you could be in for a long summer. Or you can get in touch with Tragar Home Services. We offer Central Air Conditioning systems that will take care of cooling your entire home and can also help with your energy bill. Tragar would like to let you know about the benefits of having a central air conditioning system in your home and all the cool reasons it can make your living space energy efficient.

How does Central Air Conditioning Work?

A central air conditioning system works by circulating cool air through a system of supply and return ducts, according to the US Energy Department.  Supply ducts are openings in walls, floors or ceilings that blow cool air from the air conditioner into the rooms of your home. As the air circulates it will start to become warmer and flow back into the central air conditioning system through return ducts.
There are two air conditioning systems offered by Tragar. The first is a split-system central air conditioner that consists of a condenser, which is the hot coils that help release the heat collected by the air conditioning system into the outside air, and the compressor, which is a pump that moves refrigerant between cooling coils, called the evaporator, and the condenser. The system consists of an outside metal cabinet and an indoor cabinet which contains the evaporator. Split systems are useful to install if you already have a furnace but not an air conditioning system.
The second type is our ductless air conditioning. Ductless systems are easy to install and don’t interfere with your home’s interior or exterior design. They are multi-zoned systems that allow you to keep only the rooms you’re using on. Ductless systems also act as dehumidifiers. They pull humidity out of the air which makes the room naturally more comfortable which leads to less energy being consumed.

Energy Efficiency and Other Features

There are several reasons why customers would choose a central air conditioning over wall units. A big reason to choose central air conditioning is energy efficiency. The Energy Department suggests adding a modern high-efficiency unit to your home which can use between 30 percent to 50 percent less energy than air conditioners made in the 1970s and 20 to 40 percent less energy than air conditioners made a decade ago.
Central air units are less noisy compared to traditional wall units. That’s because the air conditioning unit is located outside of the home where you won’t hear the motor. Another benefit to having central air as opposed to window units is that you won’t lose use of your window. Besides making the interior of your home look better, this also makes it secure. You’ll also be able to control the temperature of your whole home rather than just the room your wall unit is in.
